Thank you Klayton. As a novice shooter, this video answers the questions I've often wondered. I'll confess to buying shotgun ammo and having no idea as to exactly what it will kill. Figured, any ammo in a pinch.

I've subscribed to these videos on YouTube and will watch them all.

Might invest in some CS rounds, and maybe some slug

Wallyworld has 10rd bucksot boxes for about 10$ and if you have to order cheaperthandirt.com is usually good. Academy isn't to bad on prices either.

I usually use ammoman, good prices and the shipping is included in the price. You don't have to get all the way into checkout to find the shipping cost and the final price. They also ship pretty quick.

those won't function in most guns. I tried a norinco 97b and a maverick 88 (mossberg 500) i have "heard" they work in a winchester 1300. but i have no proof

I would think that the shorter shell length would lead to feeding problems with my pump mossberg???
But thanks for the link, I can now say I learned something new today! :) (never heard of 1 3/4 inch shells before) :)

was reading this article by Fortier about the Saiga 12:

http://www.tacticalgunfan.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=577&Itemid=1

when i read this:

To cure the difficulty with inserting a fully loaded magazine, I've experimented with Centurion's 2-inch Mini-buckshot shells. These rounds are noticeably shorter than a conventional 2 3/4-inch shell. However, they're not to be confused with Aguila's Mini-shells. Centurion's shells are long enough to function reliably in both pump-action and semi-automatic shotguns. Also, they're loaded heavy enough for reliable function in a semi-automatic.

By loading one of these rounds last into the magazine, you end up with an empty space at the very front of the mag. This is where the trouble arises with fully loaded magazines. It can then be inserted as quickly and easily as an empty magazine. The 2-inch Mini-buckshot shells drive six pellets of 00 buck at a respectable 1,250 fps. These rounds cycle fine in my particular gun and pattern well. Recoil, as to be expected, is fairly mild. And terminal performance of six 00 buck pellets at 1,250 fps is still quite respectable.

A quick tip to anyone from the UK who might be reading (hey im here lol) don't bother looking for 00 buckshot because over here it’s called 'Small game' (I know, stupid name) the good news is you can buy it on a Shotgun certificate and because of this it’s also perfectly legal to own without a SGC. (although I wouldn’t go shouting about it if you do)

I think 000 buckshot is LG or large game, and I’m pretty sure that’s SGC class ammo as well but don’t test me on that.

Anything bigger however you need a F.A.C to buy or own and the tighter regulations apply.
