Your family and you have been walking west for days. You come to a location where you feel safe and establish a good residence. Something you find is a large amount of the WR-CDR's in an abandoned room. You have no electricity so you can't use them for their intended purpose. What would you come up with?

mirror, distance markers for my range cards in the new zone, scatter them randomly on the ground at points of entry so if they are stepped on they crunch, tie them to trip lines as noise makers like a wind chime

I was along the same lines , but was also thinking you could post them on trees , posts anything really and use them for line of sight indicators . Set them so when you are positioned a certain way , they should be clearly seen , if they cant be seen , something or someone is obstructing them and it could be a danger point . You could also have your bore sight or a laser pointer set up to bounce off them and if you cant see them bounce off the disc , then you could have a problem . They could also be set in stacks and set in your clay pigeon launcher and used as a diversion , or tie them to some helium balloons and used as flare of sorts . You could carry them also and use them as trail markers or to indicate where traps or danger is located by having codes written in sharpie that only a select few would know . They could also be used as fun targets , they go boom when hit hehe and if you can hit the center without breaking it , then your a sharpshooter and ready to carry .

I"m sure there are many more use's than I'm thinking, but, if you are gardening, tie them around your garden in such a way that every time the wind blows it will reflect a moving glance of light, and maybe save the garden from marauding deer and rabbits. Could also be used to reflect light at certain funnels heading into your encampment, so anyone trying to "sneek" in during the daytime would see the reflection, and maybe fire at it and give away their position, warning the camp of inpending attack! Yada yada yada.

Sharpen the edges and use them as super-ninja-killing-weapons :D

A thought on using them as reflective devices.
If you can see them so can the zombies, and if you had a bunch set up around your retreat they would be like on of those shiny balls that you would see on the dance floor back in the 70's. We carry black guns, we camo all of our gear, we practice OPSEC precedures so no one will find us...
Wouldn't using shiny reflective devices where any one could see them be a bigger negative?

You place them on trees, in a directional manner so only the retreat can see them. You can even cover them from the sides with brush. It's suprising how easy it is to walk into a marked fire zone without knowing it until it's to late.

Yep , place them so you can see them and others cant and if you go your set spot and you cant see them , then something has changed and needs investigating .
