So the other day when I was out digging the balsamroot, I used my new backpack. The pack is a Deuter futura pro 42 and I really like it but it fits totally different than my old one. The waistbelt fits higher and therefore there is no room for a web-belt to hold my holster.
so I need to come up with something different, my first thought is a some type of chest harness, or a thigh holster.
The chest holster my make access easier, but my get in the way when I bend over.
I've never used either so suggestion will be appreciated.
The handgun is a Taurus PT140 Millenium with a 2 inch barrel.

blackhawk thigh rigs with the 2 belt drop downs are nice. they dont "walk' around the leg during physical activity like the single drop down. It's on my soon to purchase list now after borrowing one for a while.

There is a guy (ex-military) here in Georgia that I buy gear from that is very, very reasonable and a really good guy. His web page is http://www.sgtcmilitarygear.com . He carries the usual used and new military surplus. Whenever I stop by his house, he has 15-20 packages going out USPS.

I have purchased packs ($35), ponchos ($20) and liners ($10), ammo boxes (all 3 sizes together for $20), alice vests($20), canteens and cases ($7), etc. He also carries a knock off of the blackhawk thigh and shoulder holsters for $15-20 that works very good for the money. I think I remember the prices correctly.

I am not affiliated with him nor his company. Just passing along info on a merchant that is a man of his word.

Thanks their first bib looks like the one I carry my radio in for Search & Rescue. I think I'm going to try and modify an old Air Force aircrew survival vest, so I can have a FAK & fire starting stuff with me even if I drop my pack. Thanks for the info.
