    Cool Patrol load out

I know most know. But. A lil spin.
Besides your fighting gear and weapons.

What would your pick be for bare bones 10- 12 hour patrol. Say mild terrain(semi rural to rural ) and weather. Aka "fall/spring". Assume distance to cover is a 3-5 mile circut with 4 rv points..only objective is area denial. Aka your walking your fences.

Me i think i over pack.but im paranoid lol .
    Water-4-5 liters
    Water filter and treatment tabs.
Shelter -super protus sil tarp yote brown
    Comms-2m or grms/murs
    Extra ammo
    Extra ifak
    Food-cliffbars..strip down mre..
    Windbeaker/poncho-depends on weather
Sniper/sas viel or camo mesh net(if doing a static set up)
    Spare batts
    Navigation-map..gps..compass..spare compasd..pencil.
    Chem light
    Personal EE kit
Fire starting- hey never know ..(bic.firesteel and matches)
    Multitool or second knife.
    550 cord and trip wire.
    Piezo alarms.
    Gloves
    Watch cap
    Spare socks
    Face paint.
    Monocular.

Prolly more but thats pretty much what my base pack is before adding specific items.(mission...weather...etc ).

Its lil more than i think i should run..but..i always figure 4 hours can turn to 16.

    Whats your thoughts.
To much...not enough..stay on the couch lol
Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!

Guns and gear are cool, but bandages stop the bleeding!

I also have an AAC tirant 9 and squishy earpro in mine, and a jetboil. Plus most of what you previously mentioned minus the piezo alarms. I am still working debt off, but once that is done NODs are on the list.

I need to revisit my raingear... USGI "Style" poncho and liner currently, but thinking more on the lines of a gortex suit now. Still trying to figure it out.

    ETA...
Like you I have more then I probably should. But I'm a "better to have and not need" kinda person.

3 to 5 miles you are in your own backyard.. I'm thinking go light and have a couple caches you could visit if the need arises.. I don't see your list being all that much.. put it in a day pack right...

    3-5 miles.
Yes is short and simple. Still 4-6 hours of slow speed walking. Not to mention any admin breaks or stops to recon anything (tracks..old camps..etc etc).

Pack i use for that load out is a cback mule.
Weather ...mission changes a large ruck is needed(bhi three day).

My personal rule is, no matter how short of a time frame you plan on being out, always have enough with you for at least 24 hours including shelter, food, water, etc...

    Hawkeye,
Could you do a video on the 12/24 hour patrol bag and contents... I know it will vary to season AO etc. but it would be nice and I have not really found one on u-tube yet, Plus you about have me sold on that TT patrol bag. Would like to see it in action.
    Thanks

That's something that's honestly been on my list of things to do, I've just been recovering from my surgery for the past few weeks and now trying to get orders back out from the downtime, and I haven't had a chance to do it. I still have another week and a half before the Dr. gives me clearance to go hot, but when he does this is on the top of my list. I'd do it now but I'm not supposed to lift anything over 15 lbs, etc.... Sigh..... its so frustrating, especially since I don't have the pain as a reminder to not do something now. Anway, couple of week's and I'll see what I can do.
