Looking for experience and insights on using solar charged electric fencing to help contain cattle.

Watched a 400 lb. heifer go through a 4 foot farm fence at a corner that was made of a 14" diameter telephone pole like it was water. This was in a larger pen area where they were getting used to the place- not in an open field.

Spooky spooky cow. She's gone now. Others are chilled out, lot more relaxed. Almost close to hugging me now.

Was thinking of integrating some electric fencing a dozen or so yards inside of the main fencing in the larger pasture areas. Done right it will help protect some small pine trees growing on the periphery also.

Good, bad and ugly what's your experience with this type of fencing? Where's Motesm our resident cattle expert?
