this gear is an upgrade of yours, or making templar jealous.
down in the members section protus acknowledged a deep hidden secret i'd wondered about!
his wife was considering buying a big tent to make temp jealous.
based on the idea that their gear would be better than templar's... hmm.. that is hard to do!
---
but i've wondered if that practice in general was a common trait among campers/ s+p folks.
or was protus just making a funny comment...
i left the forum to go read emails then a memory popped in this ole head!
--
an old boy went to a campout and took no grill.. most everyone else had a coleman or similar..
the ole boy got him a "brunton model super duper camp grill" and took it to the next campout. rock solid, stainless and thousands of btus. one or two ole fellers tried it out. the ole boy had a little pride.
the next year or so, and old "tier one camper himself" had him a model extra super duty grill with legs, and 100,000 btus. ole boy thought he saw a slight smile on tier one camper!
there may be something to this... investigating further.
can you give an example or help out?

Me and Templar have been ribbing each other for years about or choices of gear.both for camping and shtf.honestly while we may look like were opposite ends of the spectrum we are kinda on the same plane.
Now...if I can just get Templar to sell his rhino gear and down grade the world would be a better place LOLHey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

LOL,
we sure did.
and that's the point...
going camping and comparing..
and learning.
finding out what works without having to go buy each and every item..
learning from my elders!
showing up in Ocala with a 35$ bass pro tent and having it fall apart!
y'all keep bringing that good stuff. get it a little scratched and bring it back the next year for the swap meet!

The whole reason for buying the "Good Stuff" is that it is really hard to scratch.. BTW, in Ocala, the cloak of invisibility is a Swiss poncho...Works really well in that terrain.

i heard tell
that a fella (i think it was a fella!)
is known to show up in ocala and wonder the grounds at night.
sorta reminds folks of that guy on the ?movies? with a hood and cloak that about drags the ground. real mystical type.. especially can be seen or hidden or appearing in the fog of the night.. but now, i wouldn't call that invisible..
is that what you guys are talking about...
don't call me crazy, but
i've seen him myself!! go ahead and laugh.. lol, roflmao, go ahead..
but,
i seen it
it (he) was real.
hey, if i saw him, then he wasn't invisible..
but,, he sure did move kinda slow and easy and quiet like. yep.
standing by what i said.
i ain't no nut... just typing on the puter!
